Life after a work injury can be challenging; West Area Psychology provides vital support and guidance for successful recovery

Compensation Claims Assessments

Our Compensation Claims Assessments are designed to evaluate the psychological impact of workplace injuries on individuals. This comprehensive assessment focuses on diagnosing psychological conditions in accordance with DSM-5 criteria, such as Adjustment Disorder (Clause 309.28) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD; Clause 309.81).

We examine the ways in which the injury has negatively affected the individual’s lifestyle, outlining both the physical and psychological limitations that arise as a result. Our evaluation also takes into account the potential long-term psychological consequences of the injury.

Our assessments culminate in detailed treatment recommendations, including a prognosis and the anticipated duration of treatment. Additionally, we provide an expert opinion on the individual’s ability to return to their previous or similar roles, or if they may require alternative employment options, ensuring a holistic approach to their recovery and future work prospects.
